Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV) ?
What’s the difference between a resume and a CV? The primary differences are the length, the content and the purpose. Moreover, resumes tend to be solely used in the US and Canada.
The differences are highlighted below, and as you can see, there are not many.
- used in the US and Canada
- it is shorter than a CV, usually a one of two page summary of your skills, experience and education. Some resumes can even be less than a page in length
- more detailed synopsis of your educational and academic backgrounds as well as teaching and research experience, publications, presentations, awards, honors, affiliations and other details
- Your CV allows you to go beyond listing your relevant experiences and accomplishments; you can also convey the substance of those experiences and accomplishments.
