Graduate Networking

Published

on

Graduate unemployment is at a 15 year high. Networking skills are becoming more important than ever as the competition for jobs becomes even more intense.

Graduates should be aware of the harsh reality that jobs aren’t only available on websites and in newspapers. Many employers advertise through contacts. Making yourself known to potential employers is imperative.

If you are at a recruitment fair, talk to people and get business cards; don’t just pick up leaflets.

Everything at University is computer based, to a point where students have forgotten the importance of face to face interaction.  Put yourself out there and get yourself known!
